Specialist Nurse Paediatric Infectious Diseases Band 6. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced paediatric nurse to join the Infectious Diseases Team at GOSH. You will work collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and the wider Infectious Diseases multidisciplinary Team (MDT). You must have effective organizational and excellent communication skills, should demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and to manage own work load. This post offers excellent opportunities for a highly motivated nurse in gaining experience within the chosen specialty. The role is a fulltime post (37.5 hours/week), which would involve working with patients affected by hepatitis, tuberculosis (TB) and HIV and to ensure the safe delivery of care this patient group. Comprehensive training and development will be available to the successful candidate. The applicant would also be expected to work two shifts per Rota on Robin Ward caring for patients with infectious diseases and immunology conditions, providing the candidate with the opportunity to maintain their clinical skills. Another aspect of the role is as a resource for other teams within the hospital in the capacity of Specialist Infectious Diseases Nurse and there will be an opportunity to be involved in teaching within the hospital. The applicant will also be required to assist with ongoing and new research studies within the hepatitis and HIV clinics. Previous research experience is not necessary as training will be provided. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to access professional associations and forums (for example, TB Alert UK/TB Network/BNLF/ BASL/ CHIVA/BHIVA/HYPNet) in order to keep up to date with approaches to treatment and care of patients with hepatitis, TB and HIV.
