Linux Engineer required for an immediate start based in Kent. The successful contract Linux Engineer will be working as a Lead Linux Engineer and will require advanced systems engineer knowledge as they will be working as a functional lead. The successful Linux Engineer is required on a 6 months contract basis and will be rewarded with a daily rate of £400-£525 per day. To be shortlisted for telephone interview, the successful Linux Engineer will need to have strong technical skills which will include the following: "Linux OS Advanced System Administration "Red Hat Linux "Programming (Perl/Python/Shell) "APIs (REST/SOAP) "MySQL "Exim/Amavis/Spamassassin "LAMP "Freeradius "Kernel ebugging/ydb/strace/wireshark "LDAP "Active Directory Integration "Tomcat "Asterisk "Debian "Automation (e.g. Ansible) "Nagios/Cacti "Source Control (Subversion,Git) "Squid "Gluster/NFS "Application Packaging (rpm/deb) "VMWare ESX 5.x/6.x "Kerberos "LVS/Keepalived The successful contract Linux Engineer will be able to demonstrate experience in the following: "Functional lead in an equivalent position "Operating 100+ Linux Servers in an enterprise virtualised environment "Mixed Linux environments "Service/system monitoring and reporting "Working in large projects " Ownership and troubleshooting service issues at a 3rd line level "Translating service requests into technical requirements The successful Linux Engineer will be required to work Monday - Friday from 9am-5.30pm but must have flexibility to start early and finish late when required to deliver change and maintenance requests. The right Linux contract Engineer will need to be a team player and must be reliable and have a high degree of accuracy in their work The successful Linux Engineer will be rewarded with a daily rate of £400-525 per day depending on experience
